Sylvaners is a book for those who see our world unraveling and wondering if something could be done.
It's a story for lovers of forests, for lovers of a simpler life, filled with elegance and beauty.
Equally a book that will feed the dreams of those of you fascinated by the ancestral path of shamanism ...
a path towards another perception of reality.
It’s also a Project. One of working together to build a different world in which we would like to live. A world in which humans leave a lighter footprint, where simplicity, harmony and listening are values.
And a world in which each living being could once again take its place, and flourish in its own way …
... Meedhu …

THE STORY
In the gray of Kadrapolis, Zoya, a teenager, contemplates with sadness the world in which she lives. She feels lost, suffocated and broken by the authoritarian laws of the ruling power.
Sheltered in the foliage of one of the last forests lives a young boy, Fawyden, whose mysterious people remain invisible to human eyes. Threatened just as much as the trees to which they are intimately linked, they are the keepers of a forgotten secret ...
Nothing seems to predict these two beings to meet. Yet the magic that life deploys exceeds all human imagination.
What doorway will they have to open, into what depth will they have to plunge ... and for what future ?

First lines...
It was cold out, extremely cold. Even when she beat her hands together, Zoya could no longer feel them. Her feet didn't seem to be inside her boots anymore. The skin on her face felt as stiff as cardboard. Her parents, huddled against her, weren't moving now. Only a thin stream of breath, barely visible, came out of their mouths. They had protected her with their bodies, with their arms, and when the snow had covered them they had lost consciousness.
Deep inside you it's warm. Let yourself slip towards the warmth.
Then, in the distance, she heard a plaintive howl. A wolf...
The animal was coming closer. Panting, bounding through the deep snow. From another direction, she heard other sounds, various noises jumbling together. A soft growl. A harsh snarl.
Sniffing.
A whisper of wings passed above her. A snowy owl alighted on a branch overhead, scrutinizing her with round eyes. A falcon followed close behind. He maneuvered between the bare trees, then settled next to the owl.
The wolf had come closer, moving easily, his spine covered in snow, a gray wolf. A little fox bounded after. A white ermine slipped between the wolf 's forefeet. She sat up and, eyes shining, contemplated the three humans curled against the hollow tree.
Stiff and held prisoner by the cold, Zoya felt her heart beat hard. What did it all mean? Were these wild things going to devour her?
No. Zoya felt it was something else; but she didn't know what. The whole thing was too strange for her to be afraid. And... what if she tried to communicate?
No sound came out of her frozen mouth.
It was the animals who began murmuring then.
“Sodos en To’ yédreu…”
“Svûû!”
“Lorga neu barey.”
“Svûû!”
They're talking to each other! Zoya thought she was losing her wits, maybe because of the cold.
The ermine came closer.
“Meedhu,” she spoke, “Yeu neu syé…”
The falcon launched himself off his branch and landed right next to Zoya. A cloud of breath puffed out of her mouth. Her lips finally managed to form a word, one single word: "Help..."
The falcon brought his round head up near the girl's face. He looked into her eyes, deeply, then began to flap his wings excitedly.
“Me Kwerp...” he cried, “Me Kwerp !”
Zoya felt a hand placed over her eyelids; then she slipped out of consciousness.
